The WHO committee began their debate by discussing the strong urge of nations to endorse different methods in order to prevent further spread of COVID-19, and obtain control of the pandemic. Delegates have proposed the creation of funds for third world countries through which fabric masks and other medical necessities will be distributed. The committee also is urging the strict maintenance of social distancing rules, the use of sanitizers, and of masks, in order to reduce the infections. Additionally, delegates referenced the necessity of restricted travel and how the 14 day quarantine should be mandatory on arrival for travelers to prevent further spread. As the delegate of Indonesia has stated, “The health of our nations is our main priority at the moment.”
